Zip Tie Soldiers

These little plastic warriors were zip tied all over the pearl. However the one I shot here was the only one I could find left whole. Most were ripped from their zip ties, often leaving the feet, several zip ties remain with no trace of the soldier they probably held. It could be a rather interesting statement given the location of the soldiers in the posh pearl area right around election time. I have my own thoughts on the intent, but will leave the speculation to you.

Back from SFO

Sorry I didn't post a vaca post. But I am back from SFO and will be slipping in some of the street art I found out there as I resume post from our fine PDX metro area. The above sticker was found at the bottom of the Mission Dolores Park. I was there for the Film in the Park on sunday.

Eclectica Slaptown Show

After mis-reading the address we stopped in a head-shop not to far from the Fred Myer. Oddly, when we inquired with the lady inside she proclaimed "Eclectica? I'm born and raised Hawthorne and I've never heard of them." then she followed that up with the question, "Are you looking for Goth Clothes?" I guess she was thinking of Metro. I said no, popped out the iPhone and pulled up the flyer from my blog and saw my address transcription mistake. Once we found the show I was very pleased. There was a great deal of art, cool clothes, stickers and beer. Robots Will Kill had some cool bits in all three elements of show. I barely made it past the sticker table to look at the 9' wall o stickers, when I was beer'ed by a gal who proclaimed her self the nights honorary "Bathroom Monitor". I didn't get to stay long, so I believe I missed the music part of the night but I did have a short & fun time. Above is a collage shots from the show and one of my favorite stickers from the trading table. I dropped some Albee and Whistler stickers there, if you grabbed one, lemme know!

Saw this flyer about a month or so ago for a show coming up this friday featuring Sticker Art. It's being hosted by Eclectica Clothing , Not seeing much info at their site but their clothes look pretty rad. I'll be there and maybe dropping some Albee Stickers...

This one just showed up a couple days ago, between 20th and 21rst st on Everett ( near the bus stop) It's been partially pealed off though so... I'm noticing that the NW of Portland seems mostly sticker territory. Though a trip to the more industrial area may change that impression.

Under the bridge

It seems a lot happens under the Fremont bridge on the NW side. This space changes often, the last time I was there this was already gone. Nice space to watch.
